About the Artist
Danica Oudeans received her BA in Studio Art and her MFA from Miami University of Ohio. She has worked with schools, non-profits, and businesses in Wisconsin to collaboratively plan, design and create impactful works of public art. Her professional work has been exhibited across the Midwest, Pennsylvania, and Florida as well as purchased for both private and public collections.
Much of Danica's work is inspired by sensory experiences, for example movement might be used to create a vibration of sound, a dense rough texture could elicit a bright taste or a warm inviting color might evoke a welcoming memory of smell. Depicted through abstract imagery, these sensory experiences interact with one another to create layered, painted, drawn, and sculpted surfaces. Her recent work has been greatly impacted by her relocation to Two Rivers Wisconsin where her daily walks along Lake Michigan has inspired a new sense of surrealistic space, floating figures, and earthy surfaces.
